2025 Annual Reunion Dinner

The 2025 OCS Reunion took place on Friday, May 16th 2025 at the SMH Stadium. A report of this most enjoyable event is now available here.

2024 Remembrance Service

The annual OCT Remembrance Service took place at The Old Grammar School, Sheffield Road on Monday 11th November. It was conducted by OC, Revd. Ron Smith and members of Brookfield Community School and Chesterfield College also took part.

Hurst House Auction

The auction of Hurst House took place on Thursday, September 26th. It is understood however that the property failed to sell. Auction details can be found here.

2022 51ers' Annual Reunion

This event, for those who started at School in 1951, took place on Friday, October 28th at the Royal Oak, Old Brampton. For the official reunion photograph and further details, click here.

Tree Planting Ceremonies.

On Friday 6th May, 2022, we were honoured by the visit of Vice-Lord Lieutenant of Derbyshire, Colonel John Wilson OBE DL, who led the Ceremonial Planting of two traditional oak trees at the Brookside and Sheffield Road sites as part of the Queen's Green Canopy scheme in memory of all who have been and will be a part of the educational establishments on each site.

Chesterfield Grammar School Roll of Honour 1939 - 1945

After the 2021 Remembrance Day Service,was the launch Philip Riden's book, "Chesterfield Grammar School Roll of Honour 1939-1945.

48ers 2021 Annual Reunion Lunch

A hardy band of six '48ers met for their annual lunch, after missing out last year. Roger Barnes, John Fidler, Alan Germany, Frank Gorman, Tony Hallam and Alan Rhodes dined at the Olde House in Newbold on 25 October. Ray Hallam and David Revell sent apologies and members noted, with regret, the recent death of Owen Ripley.

Sutton Scarsdale Hall Visit

Following the Tour of the houses of the Founders and Benefactors of the School in July (see below), a further visit took place in early November to Sutton Scarsdale Hall which was once owned by the Clarke family, also of Walton Hall. For a description and photographs from the day, click here.

The Old Cestrefeldians' Trust arranged a visit for members to properties in the Chesterfield area which have associations with the founders and benefactors of the School.

The History of Chesterfield Grammar School - now available

The comprehensive history, by Philip Riden, was launched on 16 December 2017 at the Old Grammar School, Sheffield Road, Chesterfield, preceded by a short talk from the author.
